Carruthers Real Estate - Thomas N. Carruthers, III

Tom Carruthers is the president of Carruthers Real Estate Company. He founded the company after having gained a broad base of experience with Porter, White & Company, including both real estate and investment banking experience. Prior to his employment with Porter, White & Company, Tom received his MBA in 1986 from the University of Virginia’s Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business. Between college and graduate school, Tom worked in the engineering department for Southern Natural Gas Company where he served as a project and construction manager on several pipeline and compressor station construction jobs. Tom received a degree in civil engineering from Princeton University in 1982. Outside of the office, Tom enjoys his involvement with a variety of civic organizations. He also enjoys canoeing, kayaking, mountaineering, backpacking, cycling and tennis. He is married to a former third grade school teacher who enjoys many of the same outdoor activities, and they have two daughters.
